Skin can be complicated to take care of. However, this doesn’t mean your routine has to be complex and long winded – so long as you’re smart about which products you need. To make your life easier, we’ve gathered up some top tips – hopefully they’ll help to streamline your skin care, and get you right on track for spring.
If you cleanse properly in the evening, make sure to do so in the morning as well – it’s tempting not to as mornings are always frantic, but it’s important to wash off any overnight skin products and build-up of dead skin cells.
If you’ve got oily skin, the last thing you might want to apply is an oil based skin product. However, we all know that oil repels water – so if you suffer from an oily complexion, you might find your skin is lacking in moisture. An oil based cleanser can wash away make up and impurities while helping your skin to stay moisturised.
The spring’s finally making itself known, so it might be time to change that moisturiser for the new season. A single moisturiser won’t get you through the whole year – cold wind and heaters in winter mean our skin needs a more intensive moisturiser, but the summer needs a lighter formula that can stand the heat.
It’s never too early to start combating the ageing process – prevention is better than cure. Younger skin needs lighter products, but nonetheless, vitamin filled moisturisers and serums can help to keep your skin smooth, supple, and looking rejuvenated.
We’ve said it again and again, but protecting your skin from the sun is essential to avoid premature ageing. However, you need to make sure you’re protected from UVB and UVA rays. It’s UVB that causes burning, but UVA that ages the skin. Make sure you’re using an SPF moisturiser that protects from both – not all do – or else make sure to slap on the sunscreen during your morning routine.
We’re definitely going to put this all into practice – hopefully you might find a few nuggets of wisdom as well.
