Rosacea is more common than people think, and can be a distressing and an embarrassing condition. It’s a poorly understood inflammatory ailment of the facial skin that can cause significant psychological, social and occupational problems if left untreated.

Redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead may come and go; rosacea may also occur on the neck, chest, scalp or ears. Signs can include small visible blood vessels and bumps or spots on the face; or watery irritated eyes.

While high-profile celebrities, such as Twiggy, Goldie Hawn and Elizabeth Hurley, may have a team of make-up artists on hand, most sufferers don’t have this luxury. Thankfully, Natura offers a practical and affordable alternative.

Natura uses medical grade lasers to treat Rosacea. The laser light penetrates the skin keeping it intact until it reaches the vessel. Once the laser energy reaches the vessel, it is immediately absorbed. At this point the light energy turns into heat that causes the line of the vessel (the vein) to become inflamed. This triggers the healing process and veins gradually reduce in diameter and disappear. The laser energy is delivered through a chilled window to protect the patient’s skin and provide comfort.

Does it hurt?
Prior to the procedure local anaesthetic is applied to the area to be treated. This numbs the area making the procedure practically pain free.
How long does the procedure take?
The treatment itself last around 30 minutes.
How many treatments are recommended?
This can vary from patient-to-patient depending on the area. Generally patients notice a marked improvement after the second or third treatment. Once fully treated we recommend patients have a yearly maintenance treatment. Treatments are carried out with six week intervals between each.
