Scar Conscious

Some of us may have travelled through life without an accident or anything to leave a scar on our skin… those are the lucky ones. For many of us, we boast a variety of scars from simple cuts and minor accidents, to the effects of baring a child.

For some, these scars tell a story and are more than happy to leave them be, for other scars and stretch marks may be the bane of their lives, they may create a self consciousness that can cause some people confidence problems.

Luckily, in the modern age we are blessed with a range of products and treatments which can reduce and even remove scarring and stretch marks.

Stretch Marks are caused by the rapid stretching of the skin and actual tearing of the dermis. This can be caused by weight gain, muscle gain and pregnancy.

Scaring is the cause of damage again to the dermis and scar tissue is the natural part of the healing process. In minor cases, there will be a period of scar tissue before the skin appears normal. However some scars seem to stay with us a lot longer.

Scarring on the face and on delicate tissues can create worry for some people and despite the amount of specialist creams you apply, there appears no change. This is when it is time to consider a treatment to reduce and remove scars.

Laser Scar Removal offers a treatment which has had incredible results, refreshing skin and minimising scars. Many people have invested in such a treatment and have been over the moon with the outcome. There are options for everyone and Laser Scar Removal isn’t as costly as you would think.

So, you could continue applying those creams in hope those marks will shift, or you could choose a treatment that really does work.

Rosy glow – Treating Rosacea

This time of year can cause many to have that rosy cheeked natural glow. However, what if you seem to have that rosy glow all year round, some would love to have naturally pink cheeks, it would save a pretty penny on blusher, but for others, rosy cheeks are not all they cracked up to be.

Rosacea is a common skin complaint and is prevalent between those aged 30-60. It tends to affect more women than men and can be a rather embarrassing skin condition.

If mainly affects the facial area and those of fair skin, 1 in 10 people suffer from Rosacea.

What is Rosacea?

Despite being common, we still don’t know everything about the condition Rocacea. It can cause redness and flushing of the skin, some of the finer veins can appear and in some cases the skin can thicken around the affected area such as the nose. It can also cause an increase in spots.

What are the causes of Rosacea?

The actual cause of Rosacea is unknown, but research by the National Rosacea Society has identified the most common reasons why Rosacea may flare up – these include, direct sunlight, cold weather, alcohol, stress, hot drinks and eating spicy foods.

How to treat Rosacea.

Firstly, it is suggested to avoid all of those elements which can trigger the pink flushing, but sometimes this is easier said than done.

Luckily there are a range of treatments available which use the advanced technical power of lasers.

We’re talking about small  medical grade lasers which are concentrated on the area and basically encourage the veins and blood vessels which cause Rosacea to heal, thus reducing the signs of redness.

Some may think only the rich and famous could afford this treatment, but believe it or not, it is affordable and can reduce Rosacea, giving a brighter, less rosy appearance.

The only downside of having this treatment is that if required, you will have to go out and purchase some blusher or bronzer.
